Ruth Kimball, Shirley Paro and Helen Lusk are sisters who share a favorite pastime: being an LSS Senior Companion.

Ruth and Shirley were seeking ways to make a personal connection with others as volunteers. Their sister, Helen, decided that being a Senior Companion would be a worthwhile way to transition from her career to retirement.

All three sisters befriend other seniors and take them on outings or just spend time visiting over a cup of coffee.

"We all enjoy it very much," Ruth said. "It's just become part of our way of life. I liked being a volunteer driver, but this way you can be much more involved in the lives of others and build some special relationships. I have two 90-year-olds that I visit, and enjoy it immensely!"
