Simon's Story
"While I loved Camp, both as
a volunteer and camper, my most rewarding experiences have
been serving as a counselor and program coordinator during
the last two years.
Camp Knutson has definitely
changed my outlook on life in many small, yet immeasurable
ways. Through Camp Knutson, I have met so many people with
such strong spirit and hope, despite all the strikes against
them. I have a better understanding of nature, history, and
community, having spent time learning about the historically
and culturally-rich Cass Lake area. But, above all, I loved
meeting all the people who love Camp Knutson as much as I
do. When I'm not at Camp, I study anthropology at Yale
University where I am also involved in many social,
political, and service organizations. I plan to return to
Minnesota, some day, and play a role in state politics. In
the future, I know that whatever time I spend at Camp
Knutson will have a prominent place in my life, as well as
in my fondest memories."
