Our mission to serve children
and families with special needs is made possible by our many
friends and supporters. Since 1953, support for Camp Knutson
has come from all sectors including: individuals, families,
foundations, corporations, local and state-wide
organizations, religious and non-religious groups. Because
of this generous support, over the past five years we have
rebuilt the camp to begin another 50 years of service.
If you would like to be an
active part of Camp Knutson, here are a few ways you can
support the Camp and the children it serves:
1. Camp Wish List
2. Friends of Camp

3. General Donation
4. In-Kind Donations

Friends of Camp Knutson
Annual fund drive to help provide camperships and to
maintain the camp’s facilities and equipment. Friends of
Camp K help to provide a camp experience for children with
special medial and physical needs. The camp completed a $3.5 million building and remodeling of the
whole camp, thanks to the support of Friends of Camp
Knutson.
In order to ensure that the camp
buildings and grounds continue to be maintained in first
class condition, Friends of Camp Knutson has establish a
fund to maintain the camp and provide camperships for needy
kids and families. For the support of this fund, we’re
looking for individuals, families, churches, organizations
and companies who will donate $1,000 or more each year to
Camp Knutson. Yearly donations will be on a voluntary basis.
Funds not used will be placed in a designated fund for
future needs. An advisory committee will oversee the use of
the donated money and will make an annual report to the
members. For more information about Friends of Camp Knutson,

Camp Knutson Volunteers
This is a local group of men and women who volunteer their
time to help with fundraising events, camp programs and
maintenance.
This past summer the Camp
Knutson Volunteers sponsored the very successful “Night
Under the Stars” dinner/dance and live auction which included a silent
auction. Funds from this event were given to camp to help
with camperships and to also purchase items on Camp K’s wish
list. In 2010 the “Night Under the Stars” will be held again
on Saturday July 17th, 2010 along with a luncheon fundraiser. Volunteers also help with camp cleaning
between camping groups and with camp craft programs. For
information contact “Camp Knutson Volunteers” President Bonnie Benson at 218-543-6441.
Paul Bunyan Region Auxiliary of Lutheran Social Service of
MN
This is a long-standing Lutheran auxiliary group that
provides support for Camp Knutson. The Paul Bunyan Auxiliary
is the sponsor of camp’s annual Quilt Auction. The auxiliary
provides the volunteers and organization necessary to
conduct this outstanding event. In 2009 the auction raised
over $40,000 for the camp. The 24th annual quilt auction will be held on Saturday
August 14th, 2010. For information contact Rob Larson at
218-543-4232 or Rob.Larson@lssmn.org
Volunteerism
Many individuals and families have joined us during the
spring and summer months to help with camp programs and with
facility and lawn care. One example is the Crosslake
Lutheran Men’s Group that works one day a month to maintain
camp’s lawns, gardens and other projects. Family groups have
volunteered to help with spring clean up and preparations
for the summer season. If you are interested in volunteering at
Camp Knutson, please call Mary Kay Williams at 218-543-4232.
Estate Planning
As we plan for the camp’s future we are building upon the
camp’s endowment that will ensure Camp K’s operation for the
next 50 years. For information please contact Mary Ella
Pratte at 651-969-2283.
