Dick and Char Erickson
Providing spiritual, financial
stewardship and volunteer support for over 17 years.
Dick and Char are dedicated
volunteers. They are members of camp's Advisory Committee
going on 10 years and helped with the "Rebuilding for Good"
campaign. Dick has led the Crosslake Men's group on-going
service projects here at camp each summer. In addition, Dick
and Char, members of Crosslake Lutheran Church, helped to
renovate and rebuild what is now known as the Crosslake
Lutheran Cabin. Dick and Char's daughter has supported camp
through a school fund drive to buy new canoes. Reverend Dick
has also enjoyed occasional preaching opportunities to tell
the story and mission of camp.
Dick
writes: "In 1988, it was our first visit ever to Camp
Knutson. Little did we know, it was the evening of the 'Big
Dance!' We had just opened our car door when we were met by
a number of happy campers, 'You must see the Dining Hall, we
have decorated it and it is beautiful.' They took us by our
hands - our feet hardly touched the ground - to show us what
they had done. It was truly beautiful. That evening as we
watched the joy of their dance celebration, our hearts were
warmed and our spirits cheered to see the mission of Camp
Knutson in action. What a special place for such wonderful
people. There is no way we can ever put in words how much
Camp Knutson has blessed our lives."
