Brainerd Area Services
    

LSS Adoption Services
Adoption services for U.S. born, international and special needs children. Post adoption services and pregnancy counseling also available. For information: 320/251-7700.

LSS Camp Knutson
A year-round outdoor ministry program for children, families, and adults with special needs. Knutson Point Retreat Center is also available for adult retreats, leadership development and planning for congregations and non-profit organizations. LSS Caregiver Support
Caregiver Support
Program provides assistance to family caregivers who are taking care of chronically-ill family members 60 years of age or older. Support is provided through in-home, non-medical respite care, caregiver discussion groups, informational presentations, and caregiver workshops. 1-800-488-4146.

LSS Counseling and Family Resources
The Counseling Center offers a wide range of professional, high quality mental health services including: individual, couple, family and group counseling, child and adolescent ADHD/ADD testing, family community support program, psychological testing, anger management and Employee Assistance Programs. LSS Energy Assistance 
Cares for the low income home energy needs of people in Crow Wing County. For information: 1-800-829-5902 or 218/829-5000.

LSS Financial Counseling Service
Helps individuals and families sort through the maze of credit and debt problems to find workable solutions. Includes budget counseling, a debt management program, housing counseling and community education programs. In-person, over the phone or Internet counseling. LSS Foster Grandparents / Senior Companions / AmeriCorps 
These programs rely on seniors, 60 years and older, provide one-on-one support and visitation to homebound elderly at risk of nursing home placement, and one-on-one support and mentoring to children and youth in schools, shelters and Headstart programs. For information: 1-877-612-6240 (toll-free). AmeriCorps volunteers (50 and older) provide direct respite services to caregivers that help loved ones maintain independent living. LSS Homeownership Mentoring
A program pairing an adult mentor with a low income household wishing to be achieve homeownership. Candidates are accepted by referral from local housing programs serving low income households. For information: 218/824-1437.

LSS Housing Options for Everyone (HOPE) 
Works with families and youth who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness by stabilizing housing and connecting them with resources in the Tri-County area (Crow Wing, Todd and Morrison Counties. For information: 218/824-1437.

LSS HOPE Transitional Housing 
Provides transition services for homeless families in partnership with Brainerd Housing and Redevelopment Agency. For information: 218/824-1437.

LSS HOPE Mental Health Initiative
Helps people with mental illness to address housing issues. For information: 218/824-1437 or 800/829-5902.

LSS Journey Transitional Living Program
A program to establish independent living arrangements and skills training for homeless youth ages 16 - 21 years. For information: 218/828-4383.

LSS LifeWorks Employee Resource
LSS contracts with employers statewide to provide cost-competitive, high quality, employee assistance programs, organizational development, wellness programs and critical incident services. For information:1-888-988-0098.

LSS Personal Support Services
This service offers a comprehensive range of person-centered services for adults and children with disabilities and other related conditions, based on individual needs and choices. These services include semi-independent living services, supported living services, respite care, in-home support, and consumer-directed community support. LSS Red Path Program
A program to assist youth leaving placement in establishing independent living skills. For information: 218/828-4383.

LSS Youth Services 
We offer two transition living programs for youth, ages 16 to 21 who are homeless, a Runaway and Homeless Youth program offering safe shelter, and a Street Outreach Program connecting at-risk youth with a supportive youth worker. For info: 1.888.828.4383 or 218.828.4383.

LSS Youth and Family Mentors 
Pairs young people with adults for support and mentoring. For information: 218/828-4399.

LSS Senior Nutrition
Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels is a joint partnership of your community and Lutheran Social Service to provide nutritious meals and much needed social contact for individuals 60 or older. Its focus is to keep seniors healthy, active and living independent lives. For information: 218/233-7521.

Volunteer Services
We are looking for individuals or families that are willing to volunteer/mentor at risk youth. LSS pairs our youth with an adult and provides the training/support to make it a successful experience.
