POST-ADOPTION
SERVICES
A broad range of services is available throughout the life cycle of all members of the adoption triad: the birth family, the adoptive family, and the adopted child/adult. This includes supporting the birthparents and adoptive family following finalization; facilitating communication, correspondence and updates between the birth parents and adoptive families; providing background search services, and referral, as needed.
| Genetic History/Search Services |
| LSS will assist with adoption-related searches by preparing non-identifying background information for any member of the adoption triad. LSS will conduct the search for genetic relatives on behalf of adopted adults, birthparents, or adoptive parents seeking contact and/or updated medical history. Supportive counseling is provided during the search process. LSS will also facilitate the exchange of genetic/medical information among all triad members, and provide support to all individuals involved in the search process. |
