Special Needs Waiting Children

Featured Waiting Child – Damon Damon (4/96) is a fun-loving, charismatic, handsome young man who enjoys one on one adult attention and likes to have fun. He describes himself as smart and as having a good sense of humor. Damon likes to look good and he takes pride in his appearance. He states that his favorite things to do include: playing outside, playing video games, attending sporting events, reading, and watching television. Damon likes to both watch and play football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. He struggles with being redirected and staying focused on work related tasks. In addition, he is vigilant and notices lots of detail. About school work Damon states that he receives A's, B's, and C's in school and that he wants to do well so he is motivated on his own to complete homework. Damon has had an extensive amount of treatment to assist him consistently have appropriate behavior.

Damon is in need of a family who will support him in maintaining contact with his younger siblings who have been adopted; which is very important to him. He will do best with a family who can dedicate a significant amount of time to him, welcome him with open arms, be patient, give him lots of attention, provide structure, and teach him skills to be a successful member of society.
