China Program
Lutheran
Social Service of Minnesota works in partnership with more than
35 Lutheran service agencies in 34 states and the Virgin Islands
to provide adoption opportunities for children and families.
This mission of this partnership, called the Lutheran Adoption
Network (LAN), is to provide permanent adoptive homes for
children from all countries in the world.
Adoptive
families working with a LSS of Minnesota have complete access to
the adoption programs, including China, of LAN member agencies.
LAN provides humanitarian aid to China including being active in
China’s “Tomorrow Plan” which provides funds to support needed
surgeries for children in orphanage care.
If you feel that you could
provide a loving home for these orphaned children, please
contact us.
The Children of China
The children currently in need of adoption in China are
between the ages of 8 months and 15 years. The available
children are almost exclusively female, with some Special Needs
children also in need of loving homes. Families who are unable
to care for a child often place the child in a safe public place
where they are likely to be found quickly and placed directly
into the care of orphanages.
Adoption Requirements
- Parents must be 30-50 years of
age.
- Couples must be married at
least three years.
- No restrictions on other
children in the family.
- Not currently accepting single
applicants.
- Both parents must make one
trip to China of 10-15 days (groups of 3-8 families travel
together).
