About Us

  • Funding for LSS Financial Counseling

    LSS Financial Counseling's parent organization, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS), is designated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization by the Internal Revenue Service. LSS has a Board of Directors, not shareholders. Therefore, all proceeds are used to provide and maintain the delivery of our programs and services.

  • Funding Sources

    Our funding comes from charitable and corporate grants, client fees for certain services, and contributions from creditors who participate in our Debt Management Plans (DMP). Most creditors with a financial interest in getting paid are willing to make a contribution to help fund our service, though we will work with creditors, on behalf of our clients, regardless of whether or not they contribute to our service.
