Vice President for Community Services


Named Vice President of Community Services in 2004, Jeri Schoonover is responsible for strategic management and planning for key initiatives relative to services for seniors and people with special needs. Those services include Personal Support Services, Customized Living Services, Guardianship Options, Senior Nutrition, Caregiver Respite Services, Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent programs, and Camp Knutson. Her deep experience serving people with special needs is combined with an innovative approach to building a community based continuum of care for the people served through LSS of Minnesota.

Jeri brought 20 years of professional experience in social services to her role as Vice President for Community Services, having developed special expertise serving people with disabilities. She moved to into the vice presidency after successfully serving as senior director for Personal Support Services at Lutheran Social Service. “The staff and volunteers in this organization are amazing! Their commitment to helping people with disabilities and older adults have full, rich lives in community means that people are happier, healthier and more engaged. New ideas for new and better ways to serve are a near-daily occurrence.”

A native of St. Charles, Minnesota, Jeri received her Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks and Community Education from Minnesota State University Mankato. Currently, Jeri serves on the Board of Directors for ARRM and on the Board of Directors for Providers of Southeast Minnesota. She is currently serving as chair of the Lutheran Services in America Disability Network. Jeri lives with her family in Lino Lakes, MN.
