About The Center for Changing Lives

The mission of the Center for Changing Lives is to bring people together, transform lives and create a vital community. It is located right in the heart of the Phillips West neighborhood, and is a place where individuals and families can thrive.  The Center is a unique model in providing a wide range of services and a welcoming space where community members can connect and share a meal, volunteer, see work by local artists, and find resources.
  • Building a pathway to prosperity

The Center for Changing Lives, a project of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, opened to the community in 2008 and is a partnership of mission driven private and government organizations to provide health and human services, as well as affordable housing, for children, adults and families of the greater Minneapolis/Phillips Park area.

Become a Partner and multiply your effect by becoming part of the extraordinary things that are happening here.

The services and ministries of the CFCL are all inclusive. They exist to enhance the practical and spiritual well-being of any individual regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability or age. This is done through services and partnerships that touch all aspects of life: financial, personal counseling, childcare, housing, employment and health.

The Center for Changing Lives offers 48-units of affordable housing as well as job training, counseling, financial services, wellness education, after-school activities, a neighborhood organization, health care screenings, a café, Messiah Lutheran Church, and more.
